We strongly support the efforts of the Coalition Against Gun Violence and would love to see you and your friends at their upcoming annual luncheon on May 3rd. The theme of the event this year is "Y.E.S.! Youth Empowerment for Safety!" showcasing Santa Barbara organizations active with youth and non-violence. Along with community activists working with youth, Shane Jimerson, with the Center for School-Based Youth Development at UCSB, will speak about the importance of positive peer relationships and engagement in extra-curricular activities as a way to promote academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being among our youth.
